How the count works

A business day here is any day that isn't one of your weekly days off and isn't a public holiday. By default that means Monday to Friday. If your week is different, change the days above. For a Friday and Saturday weekend, check Fri and Sat and uncheck the others.

The start and end dates are both counted by default, so Monday to Friday of the same week is 5 business days. Uncheck the start date and it becomes 4. Deadlines are written in different ways, so check the wording of the one you are counting.

When you add business days, the start date itself is not counted. With US holidays on, ten business days after Friday, November 6, 2026 is Monday, November 23, 2026, because Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11) doesn't count. With no holidays it would be Friday, November 20.

Holidays in 2026

When a holiday falls on a weekend, the calculator uses the observed weekday from the official rules.

Questions

Does it work for past and future years?

Yes. Holiday dates are calculated from each year's rules, and holidays only start in the year they were created (Juneteenth from 2021, for example). Special one-off days off aren't included.

Is anything I type sent anywhere?
