Text repeater

Type something, choose how many times, then copy the result.

Runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to a server.

What people use it for

Filling a message with the same emoji or greeting, testing how a form or app handles long input, making practice sheets with a word written out many times, or building lists of placeholder rows for a spreadsheet. Turn on Number each line when you need a numbered list, for example ticket numbers or seat labels.

Separators

New line puts each copy on its own line, which works well for lists and spreadsheets. Space and Comma keep everything on one line. Your own lets you type any separator, such as a dash or a slash; type \n in it to add a line break.

Examples

These are real results from the tool, so you can see what each setting does before you try it.

The character count is the text times the number of copies, plus one separator between each pair. For the birthday line: 17 characters ร— 10 copies = 170, plus 9 line breaks = 179. With numbering on, the 1. labels are added too, which is why three short rows come to 20.

Common mistakes

Words running together. With Nothing between copies, Hello becomes HelloHelloHello. Add a space at the end of your text, as in the last example, or choose Space.

One emoji shrinking a text message. A standard SMS holds 160 plain characters, but a single emoji switches the whole message to a different encoding that fits only 70, or 67 per part once it is split. A long repeated emoji message can be split into many parts, and some carriers charge for each.

Pasting into a spreadsheet with the wrong separator. To fill a column, use New line: each copy lands in its own row when you paste into Excel or Google Sheets. Commas keep everything in one cell.

Limits

The result can be up to one million characters, enough for a 10-character phrase repeated 90,000 times on separate lines. Larger results can freeze a phone browser, so the tool asks you to choose a smaller number. Before pasting a long result into a chat app, check its limit: many apps cut off messages after a few thousand characters, and the character counter shows the common limits.

The limit is measured the way browsers store text, where many emoji take two units, so emoji reach it sooner than letters. These are the most copies the tool allows for a few inputs:

TextBetween eachMost copies
haNothing500,000
haSpace333,333
๐Ÿ‘Nothing500,000
Lorem ipsumNew line83,333
Row, numberedNew line90,909
Happy birthday! ๐ŸŽ‰New line52,631

A single thumbs-up is one character on screen but two units inside, which is why 500,000 of them use the whole allowance while "ha" needs the same number of copies for a million letters.

Sending it from a phone

On a phone or tablet a Send in a message button appears next to Copy result. It opens your phone's share sheet with just the repeated text, no link, so you can drop it straight into WhatsApp, Messages or any other app on the list. If the result is too long for the share sheet, the page says so; use Copy result and paste it instead. The button doesn't show on a computer, where copying is quicker.

Questions

Does it work with emoji and other languages?

Yes. Any text you can type works, including emoji, accented letters, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi.

Why does an app say my text is longer than the count here?

Apps count text in different ways. The count here treats most emoji, such as ๐ŸŽ‰ or ๐Ÿ‘, as one character, but emoji built from several pieces, such as โค๏ธ or a thumbs-up with a skin tone, count as two or more. Some apps count the storage units behind the text instead, where even a plain ๐Ÿ‘ takes two, so the same text can measure longer there. Paste the result into the character counter, which counts what you see on screen, to compare.

Is spamming with repeated text a good idea?

Sending the same long message to many people can get an account limited on most chat and social apps. Use repeated text for fun with friends or for testing, not for bulk messages.
